The Truth About Prayer:
Prayer is not like a vending machine. It is not something where you will put your few coins of prayers and get the product you need, when you need it.
Prayer is not like a TOOL, in which you have to pick and fix something that was broken. God did not design prayer that way. Unfortunately, our ‘me culture' thinks this way, but that is not how it works!

Christians must start praying the right way. Prayer should not be about "me, my job, my church, my kids, all about me." We need to begin praying for The Kingdom of God to come, and God's will to be done here on earth like in Heaven!
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, Your kingdom come,
Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven...." Matt. 6:9-10
For the Kingdom of God is all about peace, righteousness (love, mercy and compassion), and joy. But how can there be peace and joy if some people are marginalized or excluded because of their culture or race? (These are hard stuffs, but 21st century church must be proactive to continue making a difference. Church needs to address social issues head-on to advance the Kingdom of God.)
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Rom. 14:17
In John 17, Jesus prays for the unity of the Christian believers...
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe (today's Christians) in me through their message, that all of them may be one...." John 17:20-21a
But where is the UNITY today in the body of Christ? The daily news reflect the presence of divisions, prejudice, bias, or discriminations, not only in the public arena or work places, but even within the church venues. How could God hear our prayers as God's peoples with the disfunctional mentality we embraced? How could we expect God to heal our land just like what He told the Isralites (2 Chro. 7:14) during the time of Solomon?
We need to repent and start praying the right way...
The passage below comes after King Solomon prayed for the dedication of the Temple:
[I]f my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chro. 7:14
MAY GOD'S KINGDOM AND WILL BE WITH YOU TODAY. AMEN!
